This year, for my birthday, I decided to host a private event for 50 adults at Artemis Shooting Sports & Training Academy, in Elmsford, NY.
When I looked up “birthday party at target shooting range” I saw very little inspiration online and decided to use my party to inspire others!
This target shooting range had a classroom that we transformed into a party room with a patriotic color scheme.
We added red table clothes, and ballon stands with red, white, and blue balloons. We also added balloons in the lounge/ entry area to creative a festive and welcoming space.
A friend made beautiful red, white, and blue floral arrangements for the tables which added a sweet fragrance to the room and a touch of elegance.
I wanted to serve hot food. So, I purchased a Disposable Chaffing Buffet with Covers, Utensils, and Fuel Cans. I also purchased Mini Chalkboard signs to inform guests of the food options.
I bought these cookbooks and made dishes I could prepare in advance. Such as, Pepperoni “Pizza Puffs” on page 44 of the What Can I Bring cookbook, and “Seriously Good Chili” on page 119 of the Seriously Good Freezer Meals cookbook.
The menu consisted of a large vegetable platter, pepperoni pizza puffs, beef chili in a slow cooker, white rice, chips and salsa, and spicy honey chicken wings. I traveled with the hot food in this XXX-Large insulated pizza bag. I should have also purchased a Portable Slow Cooker Travel Bag. I transported the iced cupcakes in cupcake boxes.
To drink, there were bottles of soda and a 3-Gallon Beverage Dispenser of water. I purchased two Blue Party Supply Kits, including utensils, plates, cups, and napkins to match the patriotic decor. The napkins weren’t absorbent. So, I replaced them with more quality napkins.
For dessert, I served a fruit platter and cupcakes baked in American Flag Baking Cups, on a cupcake stand with red lights, and added cute gun-themed cupcake toppers, and colorful candles.
While guests waited for their turn to shoot, or after they finished shooting, they enjoyed a hot meal and dessert and socialized with other pro-2A guests!
I purchased balloon designed targets from bakertargets.com. These helped make the range area feel more decorated. You can also personalize targets with the birthday person’s name or a themed design to add a special touch to the range experience.
Artemis Shooting Sports & Training Academy provided professional and experienced instructors at each lane to provide guidance, instruction, and supervision during the shooting activities to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all participants. They offered rental packages, and made long guns, ammunition, and eye and ear protection available to each guest. Guests were also welcome to bring their own guns, ammunition, and eye and ear protection. My friends and family felt empowered handling firearms, whether they were a first-timer or seasoned shooter!
The shirt I customized to say “Pew Pew” on the back was a hit! My girlfriends also loved my Cheetah print earmuffs.
As party favors, guests received a homemade chocolate gun in a cellophane bag on their way out!
Overall, my shooting range birthday party was unique and memorable, and everyone enjoyed themselves! By incorporating these ideas into your shooting range birthday party, you can create a fun and memorable celebration for your friends and family, whether they are an experienced shooter or beginner!
